How to reserve a wish?

To reserve a wish, you need to be a registered user. Registration is required in order to be able to change your reservation later—for example, to cancel it or exchange one wish for another.

In addition, you need to subscribe to the user. This is done to protect users from malicious actions by random individuals who, without such a restriction, might reserve all wishes on a user’s wishlist as a prank, without any intention of fulfilling them. Depending on the user’s profile settings, subscribing to them can be instantaneous or approved manually by them after your request.

Open your friend’s wishlist, select the desired wish, and click the “Claim” button on the wish card. If necessary, the reservation can be canceled and another wish selected.

When you claim a friend’s wish, other users visiting that friend’s profile will see it’s already claimed. The friend receives a notification about the new reservation, but does not see the author of the reservation. They also do not know which gift was reserved. For added anonymity, the notification of a new wish reservation always comes to the user with a delay of several hours. This way, the surprise remains a surprise.

However, please note that if desired, the user can find out exactly which gifts are reserved in their wishlist — to do this, they can “cheat” and open a link to their profile from another account or through a browser in “incognito” mode.
